PRAXIS REsidency open call for fall 2026

PRAXIS Oslo offers monthly residencies September through December 2026.
Send in your application by 06.07.2026, before midnight.
The residency program is open for all professional artists working within contemporary dance. We invite proposals for performance projects or research or artistic practice development.
Regular residencies include 25 hours of free workspace in PRAXIS Oslo’s 83 sqm studio space at Hausmania, ending with an open sharing on the last day. The sharing can be, for example, a work-in-progress sharing, open rehearsal, demo performance, workshop or talk depending on the format of the project.
Fees, accommodation or travel costs are not included in the residency.
All residency artists will receive a free PRAXIS clipcard which allows them to attend PRAXIS morning classes through the semester of their residency.
In your application, we ask you to describe your project, your artistic interests and motivation as well as which week you would prefer. The project description should also include a proposal for the format of the open sharing and a publicity image.
PRAXIS Oslo is a laboratory for the study of dance and movement. We offer movement classes, workshops and meeting spaces for artists in the field of dance. PRAXIS Oslo is a non-profit organisation created by freelance artists for freelance artists, that grew out of a need to gather and share knowledge of artistic practices in the performing arts community; specifically in the field of experimental dance and performance.

4th floor in Hausmania
Kitchen, office, internet and storage space
There is a toilet, but no shower.
Unfortunately there's no elevator

The residency is 5 days, from Monday to Friday 12:00-17:00*
Please submit the APPLICATION & ATTACHMENTS in PDF format:
- CV with picture
- Introduction to artistic work and artistic interests/motivation (Max 1500 characters/half A4)
- Description of proposed project (Max 3000 characters/one A4)
- Short description of public sharing: showing, workshop, talk etc (one paragraph)
- Publicity image for public sharing
- Preferred residency week/s
