Meeting 14:45 at Hausmania's back gates (behind Vega Scene).
Formless Formation is an ongoing collaboration between Amie Mbye and Inés Belli. After a cancelled premiere in 2022 we are now in the process of reframing the our reserach in order to present fragments of our work in a self-organized showing in December. In this project we have been exploring the reciprocal exchange in innovation between dance and electronic music. Electronic music has for decades expanded the sonic horizon and challenged ideas of what danceable music can be, and been a catalyst for the exploration of movements and physicalities on the dance floor. Likewise, the dance floor has served as inspiration and a driving force behind the push towards new sonic horizons. With the mutual development between music and dance as a starting point, we navigate dense soundscapes in search of other forms of physicality and movement patterns, attempting to expand the horizon of our movement and create aesthetic alternatives that collapse time and place.
Inés Belli holds a BA in dance from Oslo National Academy of Arts and an MA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths University, London. Departing from an expanded understanding of choreography, her work is situated within the independent field of dance and choreography as and artist, researcher, curator, dramaturge and initiator of projects in different constellations. Recent artistic works include Formless Formation (2022/23) in collaboration with dance artist Amie Mbye, Metasexy (2020/21) and Postmodern Cool (2019), along with other commissioned works from Oslo National Academy of Arts (NO), Panta Rei Dance Theatre (NO) and Weld Dance Company(SE).
