About the event
PRAXIS Praksis is a 3 day long 'morning sharing' where we have invited several dance artists who will hold a space in which they share their ways into dancing; this can be through their daily routine, a choreographic practice, or other approaches into moving that have inspired them.
The classes are 1.5 or 2 hours long starting at 09:30.
Each class is 50kr.
At KADI Studio
Doorbell 204 (Kadi Fever Dance).
This Praxis sharing is called “building up ECSTASY”. It’s connected to the performance project ECSTASY that has been shown at OJDF, SØaR, DiG and IN2IT International Dance Festival in 2021. In this sharing we will focus on repetition, transformation and endurance as materials to work with. We use repetition as a mantra to calm the mind and generate energy. The goal of this praxis is to share my artistic methods and approaches in building ECSTASY, both as a physical state and performance.
Ornilia Ubisse (33) born and raised in Mozambique where she studied dance at the Escola Nacional de Danca and worked as a dancer and dance teacher. She has a BA in dance with specialization in modern and contemporary dance from the Norwegian Academy of Dance with an Erasmus in Austria, at Anton Bruckner Private University (2017).
As a performer, Ubisse has been on tours, productions and collaborations with choreographers such as Editta Braun, Manuel Pelmus, Ingri Fiksdal, Olive Bierringa, Mia Habib, De Naive and Roza Moshtaghi. Ubisse has been on school tours and DKS with Nutopia, Frikar X and TekstLab with various productions. As a TekstLab Incubator participant, she has choreographed and performance two solo projects "Rua 57" and "Chaos in the Box".
