About the event
PRAXIS Praksis is a 3 day long 'morning sharing' where we have invited several dance artists who will hold a space in which they share their ways into dancing; this can be through their daily routine, a choreographic practice, or other approaches into moving that have inspired them.
The classes are 1.5 or 2 hours long starting at 09:30.
Each class is 50kr.
At KADI Studio
Doorbell 204 (Kadi Fever Dance).
2. Floor.
DESCRIPTION
We will start each day by tuning into the space, each other, and the body. Marlene will guide you through physical tasks from her “back catalogue” - breathing exercises, scores, and repetitive sequences that get the ‘engine going’. Afterwards we will dive into her long-lasting movement practice ‘open training’; a clearly structured functional and dynamic training where all body parts will be worked out thoroughly. With a partner we are doing exercises across the floor that challenges our strength, cardio, coordination and rhythmicality. At the end of the class, we will go through deep stretches that bring us back to the breath.
BIO
Marlene Bonnesen (DK) is an Oslo-Copenhagen based dance artist. She holds a BA in dance and choreography from The Danish National School of Performing Arts (2011-2015) and is currently finishing the MA in dance at KHiO in Oslo. She is co-founder and member of the dance collective Danseatelier in Copenhagen and has worked with various independent choreographers and companies such as recoil performance group, WEGO, GAZART, Naya Moll, Running Sculptures and the Catalan company Angels Margarit /cia Mudances. As a dancer Marlene seeks physical continuity. She wants to find ways to dig deeper into already existing movement patterns, expand, adjust, and fine-tune them. Her practice sharing at PRAXIS will also be informed by her research made in collaboration with dancer, peer, and collaborator Emilie Karlsen with whom she made her final MA-project.
