About the event

PRAXIS Praksis is a 3 day long 'morning sharing' where we have invited several dance artists who will hold a space in which they share their ways into dancing; this can be through their daily routine, a choreographic practice, or other approaches into moving that have inspired them.

The classes are 1.5 or 2 hours long starting at 09:30.

Each class is 50kr.

The doors will open 9:15,

We ask you to come in good time, as the space is not easy for late-comers.

We meet at Hausmania's back gates (behind Vega Scene).

DESCRIPTION

“I generally like working with playfulness and different types of dancing, expressions and focuses, which will be clear during these days. I want to try out many different things :))

The time we have together will be divided in two parts: First, we will do a warm-up that is based on release technique, highly influenced by my own studies and training. We will work with different types of muscle tensions, alignment and awareness, be a bit nerdy, and get warm.

Later, we will move into more choreography, where I will teach a couple of movement phrases for us to play around with, using different filters and tools."

BIO

Ludvig Daae is a Norwegian choreographer and dancer. In 2017 he choreographed a piece for Cullberg Ballet at the Nobel Prize Banquet in Stockholm City Hall, and he has also created pieces for the Royal Swedish Ballet School, KHiO and the Swedish dance company Norrdans. He is currently working on three projects: Meningen med livet, an interactive caravan park that researched the meaning of life. Perfect Lover, a collaboration with choreographer Marcus Baldemar, dealing with the platonic love between two gay men, seen through the filter of the release technique they are both trained in. And Ludvig’s latest piece, Spiti: The House of Us, which premiered in Bærum Kulturhus in September 2023.

He has an ongoing collaboration with film director Joanna Nordahl. Their latest piece, The Viral Dance toured with Dance Net Sweden 2020 and Dance Net Norway 2023.

As a dancer he has collaborated with Deborah Hay (USA), Mårten Spångberg (SE) and Compagnie Thor (BE) among others. His own performances have been presented in 14 countries in venues such as Oslo Opera House (NO), Sophiensaele (DE), The Place (UK), Vooruit (BE), Gessnerallee (CH), Moderna Museet (SE), Biennale de danse de Val du Marne (FR), MDT (SE), Brut (AT), GUIdance (PT), Dansens Hus (SE) and Zodiak (FI).

In December 2015 Ludvig celebrated 100 shows in 10 different countries of his solo performance MM in Sophiensaele in Berlin. MM was part of the international dance network Aerowaves, named top 10 stage performances in Portugal in 2014, and earned Ludvig the title of one of the “young hopes for European dance” by German dance magazine Tanz. In 2014 the solo toured Norway with the national touring theater and Sweden with Dance Net Sweden.
